Ms. Goodale has
worked in many
diverse media from
pencil, pen and ink
and watercolor,
acrylic, oil, egg
tempera and
collage. The
mosaics are made in
Ravenna, Italy,
using pieces of
chopped translucent
tesserae from
special glass
fabricated in
Venice. The same
processes were used
by Roman Byzantine
artists from the 5th
and 6th centuries
A.D.and by others
since then.
Her sculpture
includes many media,
both stone and wood
carving, as well as
modelled in clay,
and paper mache.
Moreover she has
worked in foundries
casting her own work
and other sculptors'
work in bronze.
Goodale's work
ranges from
realistic portrayals
of the figure to
whimsical pieces
including a bronze
"Three Ring Circus"
and a bronze "Dragon
Dish".
Robin combines
Realism and
Impressionism
to design
Expressionistic
images. In
"Views of the
Vieux Carre",
she contrasts
strong light areas
with dramatic
shadows in depicting
the architecture.
In the jazz
collages, the line
drawings of the
musicians, which she
draws while they are
playing, are the
"melodies" and the
counterpoint is the
rhythm of colorful
abstract shapes. |
